Why it’s so difficult to make time for yourself

"Why is it so difficult to make time for myself?"

Does this sound familiar to you? I know it does for me!

This sentence has been said to me in many ways, many times over the past few weeks, it's something we all seem to struggle with.

Why is it you have no problem organising your team, packing for your holiday and getting everyone around you sorted and taken care of but when it comes to some time for you, not a chance! I am laughing with love my friend because I know this feeling all too well, although nowadays some would call me selfish with my time, my well-being is patting me on the back!

I need to write a disclaimer here, because if you're hoping I resolve this issue for you so it never rises up again I am sorry I can't do that. What I can do however is remind you of a few things you probably already know, and some you hadn't even thought of...

Let's go.

Firstly, you are an amazing human being. Repeat that back to me. I am an amazing human being. Thank you, yes you are!

The very fact you're frustrated with yourself (or someone/thing else) is showing you how much taking care of yourself means to you. Let that sink in a moment.
You are aware of what you want to do/achieve/try out - Win! You know what you want. And you're aware of all the things that are getting in your way. Win, win!

You see, you know what you want, you probably know when you want to do it, for how long etc... You know all the things.

You also now know all the things that could stop you from making this happen.

You are aware and you are forewarned of all the sneaky ways you could miss out on some YOU-time.

This is a good thing because now you can make a plan, and not just any plan... I want you to make a plan B. Yep, plan for your initial plan to go completely and utterly wrong! You already know all the ways this can happen because it's been happening! Have a backup plan.
If it feels like the Universe is against you (firstly, I promise it's not) but if it feels that way, having a backup plan is a spiritual middle finger to the powers that be.

I am very passionate about helping you and people like you, reconnect to themselves. I want you to appreciate your body and wellbeing all the better so you get to sustain your wellbeing every day! That is why I’m so fired up to help you make time for yourself.

I talk about simplicity and finding snippets of time in my e-book, The 7 Secrets To Self-Care as the steps to making time for YOU feel effortless. Life is complicated enough without self-care feeling like another chore on your to-do list!

This month I am whole-heartedly, fully committing to, and practising everything I preach.
As well as the 14-day trial and the Equinox retreat coming up I've got a community of people, yes that's you, who I care for and who I need to be the best version of myself for. This means I need to level up my self-care.

I am well aware you have responsibilities and a mind full of racing thoughts and to-do lists but I ask one thing; that you be mindful of how you are taking care of yourself in the process.

It's time for a glass of vino, some yummy food and an early night for me, how about you?

My friend, if you're looking for the perfect excuse to take a whole day out for yourself I would love to invite you to Equinox, the retreat.
This is a chance to explore mindful self-healing practices that will inspire and empower you.
You’ll experience breathwork, mandala and restorative yoga, meditation and a sound bath to relax, restore and reconnect you.
I'll make sure you are nourished and nurtured with a plant-based lunch, refreshments, time in nature, and gifts to maintain the afterglow of your experience at the retreat!
This intimate gathering with a few spaces left, I'd love you to claim one of them!

Until next time my friend,

Big love,
Becki x
